Active ingredient: zolpidem

Food causes a decrease in the rate of absorption, but but does not change to the same degree the total absorbed quantity of zolpidem.

Behavior of zolpidem is different depending on whether taken with or without food. According to data from studies in healthy volunteers aged 18-64, during the first three hours after taking the drug, plasma levels, AUC and Cmax of zolpidem are much lower when taken with food compared with fasted state, while Tmax passes from 90 to 180 minutes. In contrast, from the 4th hour of taking the hypnotic, the results are reversed, so when taken with food, the zolpidem plasma level was higher than when taken on an empty stomach[1].

From these data it follows that the drug can be taken with or without food, although patients may show hypnotic effects next morning, so they should be sure to dispose for sleeping a period of 7-8 hours after taking the drug before resume their activities.
