There are no published observations about the behavior of this substance during breastfeeding, so it is preferable to use alternative medications.

Another substance of the same pharmacological group, sumatriptan, is considered compatible with breastfeeding.

Warning of the manufacturer:

There are no human data on excretion of almotriptan through breast milk. Studies in rats have shown that almotriptan and/or its metabolites are excreted in breast milk.

Therefore, caution should be exercised when prescribing this drug during lactation. Infant exposure to almotriptan can be minimized avoiding breast-feeding for 24 hours after treatment.
