Recommendations

Amantadine has the property of decreasing plasma prolactin and reduce induced galactorrhea due to phenothiazine antipsychotics. For this reason, and the lack of studies on its possible influence on breastfeeding, is preferable to avoid use during the period in which the infant is breast-fed.

Warning of the manufacturer:

Amantadine passes into breast milk. There are references of undesirable effects associated with the use of amantadine in lactating women. During breastfeeding should not take this medicine.
