Recommendations

There are a limited number of publications on the use of bretylium during breastfeeding, so it is preferable to use other drugs.

Despite having a limited oral bioavailability, extreme caution should be taken when administered to a mother who breastfeeds exclusively her child , including control of bretylium levels in the baby's blood.

It has been published a case report in a patient that received bretylium tosylate during pregnancy and after birth. The baby did not show any disorder [1].
