Esomeprazole is the S-isomer of omeprazole, from which comes almost all of the available information. We recommend, therefore, see the information about this drug. At usual doses, esomeprazole reaches a low level in breast milk, by what it is not expected adverse effects being . It is estimated that the total quantity transferred to the baby does not exceed 1% of the administered to the mother, much lower than that used therapeutically in neonates.

Is not known whether esomeprazole is excreted in human milk. Have not been conducted studies in lactating women, and consequently should not be use this medication during breastfeeding.
