Loperamide is considered compatible with breastfeeding.

No direct information is available about pharmacokinetics of the substance during breastfeeding, although studies with loperamide oxide, a prodrug, indicate that milk concentration of this compound reaches very modest figures, which most likely cannot affect the baby.

Warning of the manufacturer:

There is little information about the excretion of loperamide in human milk, but have been detected small amounts of the drug in the milk of nursing mothers, so it is not recommended for use during breastfeeding.
