The bioavailability of topically applied miconazole is negligible, so it is unlikely to cause any disturbance to the infant, even applied to the nipples. In the latter case, it is advisable to remove excess cream before feeding a baby.

Although there are no studies or data to establish the safety of use in pregnancy and lactation of miconazole, no problems have been reported in humans.
