Recommendations

The available data about the drug naltrexone are scarce and do not allow to infer their influence in all cases. However, it appears that the substance is excreted in a minimum proportion in milk, so that if necessary there is no reason not to make them compatible with breastfeeding.

No alterations have been described in the baby as a result of naltrexone administration to the mother.

Warning of the manufacturer:

Naltrexone administration during lactation only take place if, in the opinion of the doctor, potential benefits justify the potential risks.
