Piroxicam is listed among drugs compatibles with breastfeeding.

No adverse effects have been reported in babies whose mothers received piroxicam, although published clinical experience is limited and referred mainly to older infants.

Have been detected in the blood and urine of children over 12 months very low amounts of this drug, so it follows that it is unlikely to cause harm to health. However, the lack of data on small and preterm babies make it advisable to replace this substance by other NSAIDS when nursing a baby a few days or weeks old.

Warning of the manufacturer:

This medication may pass in small amounts into breast milk, so it is not recommended during breast-feeding.
