There is very little published experience on the use of pravastatin during lactation, but it seems that the concentration of this drug in milk is low. According to available data, the maximum amount of drug that could get to eat the baby would not exceed 1.5% of the weight-adjusted maternal dose.

The most widespread opinion among experts is against the use of this drug during breastfeeding because of the risk of interference with baby lipid metabolism.

Warning of the manufacturer:

In human milk is excreted a small amount of pravastatin, therefore, pravastatin is contraindicated during lactation.
