At usual doses, verapamil is considered compatible with breastfeeding.

The available information suggests that doses below 360 mg / day produced a modest level of verapamil in the milk, resulting in a low plasma concentration in the baby. In some observations, verapamil passes to the infant in a percentage between 0.01 and 0.5% of maternal dose . These amounts probably not cause any adverse effect on the child.

There are no published reports about possible disorders caused in babies by exposure to this substance through breast milk.

Warning of the manufacturer:

Verapamil is excreted in human milk, so during this hypotensive treatment the mother should stop breastfeeding.
