No references are available on published observations about its use during lactation. For some experts there are no reason to avoid using it concurrently with breastfeeding, but always with very justified reasons, given the absence of published experiences on this topic.

Although the company manufacturer indicates that the concentration in milk is low, it is preferable to use an alternative drug. According to data provided by the manufacturer, an exclusively breastfed baby could ingest approximately 0.6% of the dose given to the mother.

Warning of the manufacturer:

Zafirlukast is excreted in human milk, therefore, this drug should not be administered to mothers during breastfeeding.
