There is not enough documentation on the effects of adenosine in humans, no studies have been reported on its possible influence on experimental animals.

This substance is widely distributed by the human body, so it does not seem likely to induce adverse effects in people. However, the lack of studies about adenosine recommend to use only if it is absolutely essential.

Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
