Classification of the active ingredient flunisolide

Risk level in pregnancy: This medicine is classified as Category C.

Flunisolide has demonstrated teratogenic effects in rabbits and rats at doses equal to or greater than 40 and 200 mcg / kg / day, respectively, so that the drug should be used in pregnancy only in cases of strict necessity, since furthermore, there are no studies addressing the possible safety of this drug in humans.
