Classification of the active ingredient tirofiban


Risk level in pregnancy: This medicine is classified as Category B.

p>Tirofiban diffuses through the placenta in laboratory animals. In the species used, the administration of doses up to 13 times higher than those used in human medicine has no harmful effects on the fetus, which is not a guarantee of safety, since there are no observations in pregnant women.

The use of tirofiban in these patients should be restricted only to those cases where it is strictly necessary.
