Indications and usage     

Glyburide is an oral antidiabetic belonging to the group of sulfonylureas.

This medicine is used to treat diabetes when the disease can not be adequately controlled by diet and exercise and the use of insulin is not necessary.

Before taking the drug     

Do not use glibenclamide (glyburide)

If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to glibenclamide (glyburide), to other sulfonylureas, to sulfonamides or any of the other ingredients of the medicinal product prescribed to you. If you think may be allergic, ask your doctor.

Allergy symptoms may include:

- Asthma attacks with shortness of breath, audible wheezing or rapid breathing.

Taking other medicines

How to use glibenclamide (glyburide)

The symptoms of hypoglycemia include headaches, irritability, restlessness, sweating, insomnia, tremor, and limiting the capacity for action and attention. These episodes can be counteracted by administering sugar.

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember (with the next major meal). If the next dose is near, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to compensate.

At the beginning of treatment, transient vision disturbances may appear:.

Only exceptionally, side effects on the gastrointestinal tract, such as nausea, feeling of pressure or fullness in the epigastric, and diarrhea occur.

In isolated cases may occur hypersensitivity reactions, primarily on the skin (including photosensitivity). There is a possibility of cross-reactions of hypersensitivity to sulfonamides and their derivatives
